Rationalist and Rattumb

I have gotten one complaint regarding this re moderation policy and my competency to be administrator of this dreamwidth community regarding my posts a while ago on Tumblr regarding the extent to which the community should accept far-left and far-right ideologies.

I will commit to only moderating behavior in which there is clear consensus in the broader rationalist community that it is unacceptable, and will definitely not use this as a chance to attempt to alter community norms.

I will also concede that due to some of my previous posts on the matter, and possible differences from community consensus, anything resembling a borderline case should be decided by someone who is not me for reasons of building community trust if this becomes anything resembling a community hub.

Namely, I agree to appoint other co-administrators of the page as soon as possible, particularly if discussion or posting occurs that goes beyond introductions, and not issue bans or remove content except where there is moderator consensus (except in obvious cases like spam, where the usability of the group is affected by slow moderator response). I will not attempt to moderate non-spam posts until there are other administrators of this page from wide swaths of the community, and there is consensus on the type of moderation people would like to see from the page.

I will also note that I will concede that some of my posts a few weeks ago were made too hastily and I have re-evaluated most of those thoughts. I would also contest a characterization on Tubmlr of the depth of my previous thoughts. Those remarks were limited to far-left and far-right people, particularly those active in internet parts of the community (such as the SSC comment section). It very much did not include anyone who did not support Clinton in the election. But even in narrow form I have reconsidered. But that not withstanding I would like to make a strong commitment to not over-moderate. I would also note that in cases where I have had some community responsibility for moderation, I have not abused those privileges,
